Cashel Order of Malta Cadets win big in Limerick

Kadie qualifies for National Competition

Cashel Order of Malta Cadets showed outstanding skills to be named winners across the categories in a regional competition!

The young Cadets, aged between 10 - 16 years, headed to Mungret, Limerick, on April 7. The Limerick Unit hosted the competitions for the day to celebrate 70 years.

Excited for a day of competitions with their region Cashel cadets competed in first aid, floor tests, home nursing skills and presentations on the unit from our cadet of the year.

The results were drawn up and everyone of our cadets were thrilled as all of the cadets placed. Results were as follows: 1st place Under 13 Individual First Aid Kadie Gibson; 2nd Place Under 13 Cadet of the Year - Leo Cavaliere; 3rd place Under 13 Home Nursing - James O'Sullivan and Aoife O'Sullivan; 3rd Place Under 13 First Aid Team - Brian Byrne, Aoife Byrne, Adam Moloney and Leo Cavaliere; 3rd Place Under 16 Home Nursing - Caoimhe Howley and Rachel Ryan

The whole unit is very proud of the cadets and how much they've achieved and the cadets should be very proud of themselves.

They now look forward to heading to National Cadet Competitions which will be held in Lisnaskeagh, Fermanagh in June where Kadie Gibson will compete at All-Ireland level.

Congratulations and well done to all the cadets and their cadet leaders. If you would like information on how to join the cadet unit please contact Richard Hennessy on 086-6017832.
