Storm Emma: Big Snow clear up in Ballingarry

Richie and John White from SAS (Slievenamon Agricultural Services, Cloneen, Drangan) were out in force today (Saturday) helping to clear snow from many roads in the area and as you can see from our photos they certainly have the equipment to do so!

Anthony and Ronald Rice, Clashduff and Anthony Pollard Agri Services, Ballyphillip, have also been out and about clearing the roads after the heavy snowfall from the Beast from the East and Storm Emma.

Ballingarry Civil Defence have also been busy since early morning checking in on people in the parish to see if they need any assistance and if they have enough provisions. The hardworking team of volunteers have been getting medical prescriptions for people who are not able to get to the pharmacy themselves.

Tipperary County Council have also been out to the area and many roads are now cleared and gritted.

Local Councillor Imelda Goldsboro has expressed her gratitude to everybody who has helped in any way in the past number of days.

The advice is to stay safe and not to make any unnecessary journeys especially while the heavy duty machinery is in the area trying to clear the roads of snow. Tipperary is still under a Status Orange warning so the worst of the weather is not over yet.
