Gallery: Our Lady's students honoured for sporting, academic and artistic achievements

On Tuesday 22nd senior students and teachers at Our Lady's Secondary School Templemore gathered together to celebrate their annual Senior Awards Ceremony. These awards recognise both the academic achievements of 5th and 6th year students  as well as contributions they have made to school life.

Former Deputy Principal Mr Willie Butler was warmly welcomed to present some of the awards alongside Mr Conor Stakelum who acted as Keynote Speaker for the event. During his speech, Mr Stakelum, who is a past pupil of the school, encouraged the students to work hard and to surround yourself with good people.

Sports Persons of the year recipients: Andrew Ormond and Christina Brennan

Grainne Hennessy who received the highest results in the Junior cert in 2017 pictured with her parents Áine and Michael Hennessy

LCA Recipients - LCA1 Stephen Maher LCA2 Shane Monahan

Sr Rosario German award winner Davina O'Flaherty

Music Award Recipients - Cheyenne Stewart and Niamh Kennedy

Debating Award Recipient - Caoimh Delaney together with Ms Tara Talbot and Ms Natasha Keane

Sr Helen Kennedy recipient - Marie Kennedy Dr Jim O'Shea recipient - Ben Collins

International Student recipient - Dariya Bazhenova

Br Edmund Rice recipient - Liam Nolan Sr Catherine McCauley recipient - Christina Brennan

6th Year subject recipients

Conor Shanahan who received the highest point in his leaving cert in 2017 together with his parents, Tim and Mary Shanahan, Principal Ms Higgins and Conor Stakelum

Sr Geraldine French award - Dariya Bazhenova

5th Year Subject Award Recipients

CEIST Award recipient - Davina O'Flaherty

Brian Gleeson - 6th year student of the year and Conor Ryan - 5th year student of the year
