Tributes pour in for retiring Cashel caretaker

Jerry Ryan has retired from Cashel Community School after 23 years service.

Retiring Cashel Community School caretaker Jerry Ryan was described as ‘kind-hearted, talented and obliging' at his retirement function at the school recently.

Jerry retired as caretaker of Cashel Community School  after almost 23 years of service and having worked with two different principals.

Presentations from the staff and students were made to Jerry to mark the occasion.

Principal John Gallagher said Jerry began working full time for the school in 1994. He said Jerry was an extremely friendly and obliging man who was 'good hearted and had a common sense approach to life'.

Principal Gallagher said Jerry would be greatly missed at the school. “He is a great people person and loved being around the school. He was a pleasure to work with, very popular with staff and students, and we all wish him the very best in his retirement,” he added.
