Tipperary's Max Wachman won the individual silver medal at the FEI Pony European Championships.
Tipperary's Max Wachman is feeling proud after claiming the individual silver medal at the FEI Pony European Championships at Bishop Burton College in England last month.
With 50 competitors starting out in the competition, Max - riding Cuffesgrange Cavalidam - made it through to the last 11 in the jump off. Here the Rockwell College student jumped spectacularly and went clear but was slightly unfortunate to have had one fence down in the third round.
However, with the last competitor to go, Max was still in a leading position but was pipped at the post by Ingemar Hammarstrom of Switzerland who jumped clear in a time of 63.32.
"This augurs very well for the future of showjumping in Ireland and for talented Max," a Rockwell College spokesperson said.
