The girls from Lisvernane NS with their Munster Olympic Handball medals
A west Tipperary school are celebrating as they have claimed their first ever Munster title in Olympic Handball.
Lisvernane National School took the title after a final battle against Herbertstown National School from Limerick, the first time the Tipperary school has ever won the title.
The team from Lisvernane NS was made up for 5th and 6th class girls, winning the final game by a single goal.

Speaking after the win, team joint captains Shauna Cleary and Fía Sexton said: "We’ve worked so hard for this moment, and it feels amazing to make history. We knew we could do it if we played as a team, and today we did just that.
"We had to really improve on our group games performances to give us every opportunity to be there when it mattered most. Every single player gave everything they had, and it paid off," they said.

The victory is also a milestone for Lisvernane NS as it is the school's first ever Munster Olympic Handball title.
The girls from Lisvernane will now head to Meath on April 9 to play their first game in the All-Ireland Competition.
