One firm of bookmakers has installed Cork as the 9/4 favourites for next year’s All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, despite their defeat by Tipperary on Sunday.

Back-to-back Liam MacCarthy Cups for Tipperary is rated a 9/2 chance.

The Rebels took to the pitch as the red-hot 1/3 favourites to lift the Liam MacCarthy Cup yesterday, and were as short as 2/13 at half-time when taking a six-point lead into the dressing room.

However, a resilient Tipperary dominated the second half, with Pat Ryan’s side chalking up just two points while the Premier County peppered the scoreboard with 3-14 to secure a 29th All-Ireland title.

A typical Munster stranglehold on the outright betting for 2026 sees Limerick rated as Cork’s main rivals at odds of 5/2, as the Treaty bid to bounce back from a disappointing 2025 campaign. Defeat came at hands of the Rebels on penalties in the provincial final and John Kiely’s side bowed out at the quarter-final stage of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship when beaten by Dublin.

2024 winners Clare (8/1) are no forlorn hope, according to the oddsmakers.

Kilkenny, who are fourth in the betting at 11/2, are set to fly the flag for Leinster, with beaten provincial finalists Galway also well in contention at 8/1.
