Two From Out the Land Shows cancelled in Clonmel

Clonmel Junction to host largest theatrical event that Tipperary has ever staged

Following the road traffic tragedy in Clonmel two of the From Out the Land shows have been cancelled

Following the tragedy in Clonmel when four young people lost their lives in a road traffic accident , a decision has been taken to cancel the Thursday, (August 31) and Friday, (September 1) performances of From Out The Land due to take place  on the site of the former Kickham Barracks in Clonmel.

A statement was issued on Monday morning by Clíona Maher, Artistic Director at Clonmel Junction Arts Festival.

 The following statement was issued.

“A town is humbled silent, they wipe their tears away”

The opening lines of Kate Twohig’s song that begins From Out The Land seems particularly apt as we come to terms with the deep grief and sadness felt by all of us here in Clonmel” says Clíona Maher, Director of Clonmel Junction Arts Festival and Producer of From Out the Land.

In light of the tragedy in our town, and as a mark of respect to Zoey, Grace, Luke and Nikki, we are cancelling the Thursday (31st) and Friday (1st) performances of From Out The Land.

Many of our team and our performers are personally impacted by the tragedy and we’re focusing on being there for each other in this very difficult period.”

Tickets holders for the cancelled performances should contact boxoffice@junctionfestival.com where they can exchange tickets for another performance," concluded the statement.
