An Irish radio presenter has proposed to his long-term girlfriend with the help of his young son.
Today FM star Ed Smith announced his engagement on social media on Christmas Day, stating on X (formerly Twitter): "Finally, some silverware for Mayo.
"Shout out to the messenger too!"
Ed proposed to his girlfriend with the help of his son, who wore a jumper featuring the question, "Mamaí, an bpósfaidh tú daidaí?" which means "Mammy, will you marry daddy?"

Dozens of people commented under Ed's post to congratulate the happy couple.
Ed thanked well wishers, stating, "Thanks for all the lovely likes and lovely words here. I didn't get to reply to them all due to Carbageddon but rest assured you all have gorgeous bottoms."
