A highlight of The Clancy Brothers Music and Arts Festival during the June Bank Holiday Weekend will be the open air concert starring Mundy and Paddy Casey.
The Rock On the Suir concert will take place at The Wicklow Gardens, North Quay in Carrick-on-Suir on Saturday, June 4 from 4pm.
Mundy and Paddy Casey will be the headline acts and they will be supported by, El Hombre Jokes, Chimpanbee and Amber Jean.
Tickets for the concert are now on sale.
Mundy hit the Irish music scene with his first album in 1996 and has gone on to achieve international fame.
He is releasing his brand new album ‘Shuffle’ in mid May; the fifth album has been recorded over the last year at various bunkers, this is Mundy’s love song to his favourite American songwriters.
Commenting on the upcoming album Mundy Said, “This record was a pleasure to make and I wanna thanks all of the great writers of these songs for inspiring me, leading me and guiding me in my career through darkness and light.”
Irish singer-songwriter Paddy Casey from Dublin was discovered by Sony while performing at a bar.
He released his first album Amen (So Be It) in 1999, Paddy received nominations for Best Irish Songwriter and Best Male Singer at the Hot Press Awards. Hot Press readers themselves voted the album Best Debut Album, as well as voting Paddy the year’s Most Promising Act and nominating him in seven other end of the year categories. Touring saw Casey providing support to artists like R.E.M., Ian Brown, Ani Di Franco and The Pretenders. Casey returned in 2003 with the multi-platinum album, Living. Paddy also supported U2 on their Vertigo tour.
Paddy recorded his third studio album in Hollywood. Titled Addicted To Company (Part One), it was released in Ireland on September 7, 2007
The festival’s musical programme will close with an intimate evening concert with Paul Brady at The Strand Theatre at 8pm on Sunday, June 5.
Rock On The Suir tickets priced at €22.50 plus booking fee are available nationwide at Xtra-Vision stores or on www.ticketgroup.ie .
