The intimate venue of the Brian Boru bar in Cashel will be submerged in the best of talent next Wednesday, July 20, as local musicians and avid listeners gather to pay homage to Sean Feery as he launches his latest release ‘Thanks For Listening.’
A night of acoustic entertainment is planned with Feery holding fort and inviting noted guests such as Shay Fitzgerald, Billy Bob O’Dwyer, Lynda Tracey and Pat Carrie to celebrate the evening with him.
Sean will also be contributing to a good cause as all proceeds will be donated to the Cashel Nagle Centre on the night.
The London born singer songwriter returned to his father’s roots in 1991 and settled in the village of Dualla outside Cashel. He began his Irish musical journey with Cashel’s Billy Bob O’Dwyer gigging as a duo under the name of ‘Fado Fado’. Around this time he recorded his first album ‘Making Dreams’ and went on to become a band member of the noted Tipperary favourites Foul Play. As well as working with the group , Feery continued to pursue his passion of song writing which resulted in the successful solo release of three singles, ‘Thanks for Listening’, ‘Always be Your Friend’ and ‘Guys Like Me’.
Feery explains ‘I had a great reaction to the singles and this encouraged me to create the latest album ‘Thanks for Listening’. It’s been a labour of love and I’m delighted to be able to launch it in Cashel with family and friends who have given me encouragement and support throughout this process.”
The new release is already making waves with the public and airwaves alike and has been described as “an emotional journey intertwining thoughtful lyrics with intricate instrumentals that subconsciously linger.”
The nine track album will be showcased on the night and tickets costing €E5 will be available on the door. So join Sean Feery and his musical cohorts at Brian Boru on July 20 as he thanks you for listening.
