The Board of Management of Tipperary Excel Centre has asked the public to attend a public meeting at the centre on Monday November 19, at 7pm.
The board and management have been engaged in a review of the services provided by the center with a professional consulting company in recent months.
A spokesperson for the Excel said that it was appropriate that a public consultation should be held so that the community can voice its opinions and ideas to assist the board and management in deciding on actions that are needed to ensure the survival and future development of the centre.
“The centre has already engaged in cost cutting measures over the last number of years, however the task we now face is to find ways of reducing expenditure while maintaining our current level of service on a restricted financial budget. This may not be possible and consequently, there may be an impact on the level of services and social amenities we can provide to the community.
We encourage all members of the community to come and have their say and in particular representatives from other community groups and organisations that use the centre on a regular basis as any decisions taken may have an impact on your own group activities.
We are calling on you the public and the people who most benefit from the centre to attend this very important open meeting and show your support and commitment to the centre in helping to shape its future,” said the Excel spokesperson.
