The annual Tipp Mid West Radio concert took place recently at Dundrum House Hotel. Organiser, Mary O’Brien, presenter at the radio station, welcomed special guest performers Jimmy Buckley and support artist, Dermot Lyons.
Jimmy Buckley, one of the top entertainers in the country sang comedy and gave general banter that had the audience enthralled for two hours. Jimmy was heard saying of Charlie Arkins fiddle playing, “My God can’t he make the fiddle talk.”
Dermot Lyons, who is well known to all the listeners of Tipp Mid West for his Monday night show at the station, entertained everyone with all the well known songs that had the audience singing along and even a few chairs were pushed back for a bit of a dance.
Station manager, Anne Power and Mary O’Brien were delighted with the night. “All-in-all the night was a huge success just what we have come to expect from concerts fromTipp Mid West Radio,” said Anne. “Everyone went home happy looking forward to the next concert.”
