This year the Medieval Festival was held earlier in June to coincide with the Fethard Gathering Festival with the approval of the Heritage Council who fund the event. Unfortunately many visitors were unaware of the change and came to Fethard on Sunday last to attend the Medieval Festival. Jolly’s Café on The Square reported that at least nine people travelled from places as far away as Wexford stating the Festival was still being advertised as part of Heritage Week on some websites.
