Its a rare chance to hear this musical icon, as Johnny himself says ‘They dont let me out much anymore’

The intimate stage at the foot of Sliabh Na Mban has enticed many legendary performers and draws its captive audience from a wide area. Music lovers and musicians enjoy the up close and personal ambience of the converted barn and its now firmly established as a venue with a difference.

CS Boland once wrote ‘that the man who was never in Mullinahone shouldn’t say he had travelled at all

Johnny Duhan has travelled many journeys but on Saturday night his boat pulls into the harbour of Crocanoir. It promises to be a voyage well worth sharing.

“One of our great songwriters.” Christy Moore

“One of my favourite songwriter.” Ronnie Drew

Johnny Duhan’s songs like The Voyage and Don’t Give up till it’s Over are sung all over the world in a variety of languages, thanks to the focus put on them by Christy Moore, The Dubliners, The Irish Tenors, Mary Black and hosts of other Irish and international singers. Over the past few years Johnny has taken to the stage in a series of one man shows based on his lyrical autobiography To The Light. After the success of Just Another Town & To The Light, his new show The Voyage plumbs the marriage struggle for “treasures of the heart”.

In the long shadow of our family tree

That darkened once the heart in me

I found good reason to believe

In our frail seed

The Voyage deals with family matters and family history, taking its inspiration from both the family Johnny grew up in and the family he helped form. It is not a sentimental or nostalgic portrait but one that shows up the cracks and strains of marriage, as well as the joy of family life.

Life is an ocean, love is a boat,

In troubled waters it keeps us afloat;

When we started the voyage there was just me and you;

Now look around us, we have our own crew.
