Tom Weston wins Indie Excellence Award for book

Tom Weston’s book, ‘Feathered: Being a Fairy Tale’ has recently won the 2013 National Indie Excellence Award in the Young Adult Fiction category.

Tom Weston’s book, ‘Feathered: Being a Fairy Tale’ has recently won the 2013 National Indie Excellence Award in the Young Adult Fiction category.

Tom’s editor is Carmel Trimble (nee Millett), St Johnstown, Fethard, and it was actually stories from Carmel’s childhood in the Castle Inn, on Watergate Street, which inspired this novel. The book is the third in the award winning series called the Alex and Jackie Adventures. The series is targeted to reading ages of 10 and above.
‘Feathered: being a fairy tale’ is set for the most part in our town of Fethard, and many of the Fethard landmarks are referenced.

Congrats to Tom on his award which celebrates the highest achievements in self-publishing, a sector of the industry that has grown exponentially in recent years.
