Clonmel’s Shirley Valentine takes a trip to Carrick-on-Suir

Clonmel Theatre Guild will stage Willie Russell’s popular play Shirley Valentine in Carrick-on-Suir’s Brewery Lane Theatre at 8.15pm on Saturday, and Sunday, October 12 and 13.

Clonmel Theatre Guild will stage Willie Russell’s popular play Shirley Valentine in Carrick-on-Suir’s Brewery Lane Theatre at 8.15pm on Saturday, and Sunday, October 12 and 13.

The play is directed by Patricia Harte and Sean Bergin is assistant director. Russell’s hilarious and often poignant masterpiece tells the story of a bored Liverpool housewife, who is fed up been taken for granted by her husband and children. The title role is played by Amanda Kirwan with supporting cast J. Meagher, Carol Acheson, Susan Dunne, Carol Clancy, Treasa Philips and David Walsh.

Tickets cost €15 and can be booked at Heritage Centre from this Friday, October 4. Tel: (051) 640200.
