Artist Amanda Jane Graham is showing an art exhibition at the Excel Gallery during August.
‘A Tribute To The Irish Community Butte Montana (1916-1919)’ is both biographical and autobiographical and revolves around memory, narrative and family history told to her by her grandmother.
Amanda uses personal history and combines it with her sense of humour to create quirky and humorous characters.
As a child she was intrigued by her stories told to her about grandmother’s childhood in Butte Montana at the start of the 20th century and how it was to be an Irish American whose family was very involved in the Fenian movement.
