Queen of the Green to be announced at Rosegreen Field Day

This year the highlight of the day is a guided bus tour to the famous Ballydoyle Stables. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to see the home of some of the greatest racehorses in the world.

At 1.30pm the Cashel brass band will open the festival on a musical note. And this will be followed by a display by the army, a hurling blitz, wheel of fortune, athletics for children and adults, dog show, cake competition, glamourous granny, plant stall, mini digger, pony and trap rides and face-painting.

Tickets are on sale for a luxury weekend away and there are lots of more wonderful prizes, medals and trophies.

At 4pm a monster auction will take place. Lots of bargains will be had, trailer loads of firewood and turf. Do come along and meet old friends in the tea tent and enjoy all the activities and the variety of side shows throughout the day.

At 9.30pm in the Community Hall the Queen of the Green competition takes place. Compere John Hogan will interview the 12 contestants and the winner will be announced at 12 midnight. Music for the evening will be by Golden Sound.

Proceeds of the Field Day and Dance go towards the new kitchen which is a great facility for the community and also to the Lourdes Fund and the Senior Citizens Party so come along and enjoy yourselves.

A great day and great night is assured for all the family.
