Concern Collection

The Tipperary Singers and Friends are holding their Annual Church Gate Collection at St. Michael’s Church on June 29 and 30 for Concern’s efforts to supply nourishing, high protein plumpy nuts to save the starving children in refugee camps on the Syrian border.

Community CounciL

The Annual General Meeting of Aherlow Kilross Community Council Ltd (AKCC) will be held at 8pm on Monday July 15.   All members of the community in Aherlow and Kilross are welcome.

Building Blitz

On Sunday, June 30 between 2-5pm a fundraising garden event takes place in the home of Billy & Margaret Kingston in Glencush, Glen of Aherlow for the Niall Mellon Township Trust Building Blitz. Admission €5 – all are welcome.

Charity Mixed Blitz

The first annual Tipperary Town Ladies Football Club Mixed Blitz 2013 will take place on Sunday, July 7 in the Abbey School, Tipperary Town with all proceeds going to the National Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Ireland.

My Fair Lady

A lady from London Nikki Roche Harris has contacted The Nationalist after seeing a nostalgia picture on our website.

Nikki said she was delighted to have at least one photograph from her school days.She confirmed that the picture was taken in 1987 during “Senior Cert” year.It was for our school performance of “My Fair Lady”.

“My husband and I have truly enjoyed reminiscing about this and it has made my 22 year old son, belly laugh at how short his Mom was and still is, not to mention my delightful ‘80’s hairstyle!”said Nikki.

Skills Courses

An 8-week introduction course to welding and computers with a specific focus on job seeking skills is now available. A Hard Landscape Construction course is also starting soon on a Friday morning. Ring Trish or Josephine on 062-52688 to find out more!

Daisychain Camp

The Knockanrawley Resource Centre Daisychain summer camp starts on July 1 and runs until August 26.

The cost per week is €60. This is for 5 days, 9am-2pm. Contact 062 52688.
