The County Tipperary Ryan Youth Orchestra enjoyed its first outing of its new season by performing arrangements of sacred music at Mass in St. Michael’s Church, Tipperary with St. Michael’s Girls School Choir.

The orchestra, under the direction of Michael John Ryan and St. Michael’s Girls School choir, under Ida Mooney were joined on the occasion by the CTRYO Junior orchestra.

The celebrant Fr. James Kennedy warmly welcomed the orchestra and choir and a very large congregation enjoyed their combined contribution to the ceremony. The event was followed by a Christmas concert, shared by the Ryan School of Music in Ballykisteen Hotel on Sunday, December 9.

New concert venues for the New Year and a trip abroad are all in the offering for 2013. In the meantime rehearsals by the orchestra will commence on January 11 at St. Ailbe’s School, Tipperary. For further information - 062-51128.
