2012 Minor A County Championship

On a cold but sunny day, 24th February 2013 Cahir and Clonmel Commercials played the 2012 Minor A County Championship in Monroe, Clonmel at 2.00pm. Cahir were the first scorers of the day and within a few minutes had 1-1 on the scoreboard and continued their dominance throughout the first half adding a further 2 goals and 5 points. Clonmel Commercials had to wait until the 23rd minute before they could score with a point from Clare Nolan to be followed shortly with a goal from Sarah Ryan. The teams went in at half time with a scoreline - Cahir 3-5 Clonmel Commercials 1-1. The second half however was more equal with Cahir scoring 1-2 while Clonmel Commercials scored 1-3. While Clonmel Commercials fought bravely in the second half, they had to give best to an impressive Cahir side. The final score on the day was Cahir 4-7 Clonmel Commercials 2-4. The Chairman of the Tipperary Ladies Gaelic Football Association, Mr Tommie Campbell presented the Cup to Aisling McCarthy, Cahir Captain (on her birthday) with a special note of thanks to the teams, their mentors, the Referee, Keith Delahunty and his umpires, the supporters and Moyle Rovers GAA Club for use of their grounds.

County Intermediate Team

The Tipperary County Intermediate Team had a free weekend after playing for three Sunday’s in a row in the Tesco Homegrown National Football League. After a well deserved rest they are looking forward to taking on Wicklow in Round 4 at a Tipperary venue this weekend. This venue had not been decided when going to print but check out during the week for the fixture.

County U14 Team

The Under 14 County Team start their Munster Championship on Saturday March 2nd with Clare as their opponents in a Clare venue. Follow us on Twitter @TippLadiesFB for full details of the fixture.

Munster Ladies Gaelic Football Association Post Primary Junior B Final

Loreto Clonmel played St. Mary’s Macroom, Co. Cork in Cloughduv, Cork on Friday 22nd February. Loreto came from six points down at half time to stage a dramatic fight back in the second half.  The girls drew level with a combination of two great goals from Moyle Rovers, Megan Shanahan and Kirsty Crotty Ryan and had every chance in the last quarter.  However, Macroom edged in front in the closing stages to record a one point victory.  Credit must go to the Clonmel Team who kept a crafty Cork outfit to 1 point in the second half. Final Score: St Marys 2-8 Loreto 3-4.

Leanne Ryan (Moyle Rovers), Hazel Shanahan (Moyle Rovers), Sarah Ryan (Commercials) and Niamh Mackey (Commercials) are all members of the Tipperary County Minor Panel which will start their Munster Championship at the end of March.

Key2Coaching Course

The Key2Coaching - Stage One coaching course will take place on Saturday March 2nd. The course is being hosted by the Galtee Rovers club in Bansha and it will start at 10am sharp. The course will last for two and a half hours. The workshop is ideal for coaching of Under 8/10/12 girls. The workshop will involve a typical training session delivered by qualified tutors with an opportunity for coaches attending to observe, analyse and question aspects of the session.  The cost of this course is €10 per person and everyone attending must have completed the FUNdamentals coaching course.
