Tipperary County Museum presents ‘Treasures of Carrick-on-Suir, Stepping Back in Time’ until October 17.
This will feature Carrick famous 17th century 81 gold coins hoard kindly on loan from the National Museum of Ireland. The coins were found in Carrick earlier this year by David Kiersey, Shane Comerford, Tom Kennedy, Shane Murray and Patrick McGrath during ground works being undertaken at Main Street.
The earliest coin dates to 1664 Charles II and the latest 1701 William III.
This unique exhibition will transport you back in time. There’s something for all the family. We are especially welcoming community groups and school groups to visit the Museum. We want you to enjoy your experience, so be sure to book your group visit in advance of travelling to Clonmel. Admission is free. We are open Monday through to Saturday 10am – 5pm for this special occasion.
