The traditional Christmas Concert by the Tipperary Millennium Orchestra will be held at Ss Peter and Paul’s Church in Clonmel at 8pm on this Sunday night, December 8.
The concert has become synonymous with the festive season and again this year the Orchestra has prepared an exceptional programme. The orchestra is a voluntary organisation dedicated to the promotion of classical and light opera music.
The organisers are privileged to have the outstanding talents of conductor/tutor Fergal Carroll. His current role as music instructor/conductor with the Army Band is testimony to his expertise and ability.
Under the guidance of the many tutors and joint musical and artistic directors Mary Rose McNally and Danny Carroll, and conductor Peter Taylor, the orchestra has grown and developed into one of the finest youth orchestras in the country.
The event will feature the choral talent of The Gaudeamus Choir, made up of members of choral societies from Tipperary, Thurles and Clonmel. Accompanying them will be Tipperary’s Derek Ryan, while compere Niall Carroll of RTE/Lyric FM will give his own very special touch to the programme. Tickets cost €15 and will be available at the door. They may also be purchased in advance at Ss Peter and Paul’s Parish Bookshop; Marian’s, O’Connell Street and Better by Nature, Market Place, Clonmel.
