The surrounds of Cahir Castle will be alive with the sights and sounds of medieval Ireland, on Saturday and Sunday next, July 23 and 24.
Experience history like never before when life in medieval Ireland is brought to life in Cahir, this weekend. In what promises to be real treat for all the family, those that go along can experience the sights, sounds and smells of what it was like to live in a medieval town.
There will be a living history camp allowing you to get up close and personal with the Norman times, an old world village will be set up in the Inch Field behind the castle.
Jousting Knights will fight for the honour of the Queen of Cahir and falconry displays of the traditional hunting methods of the day and archery competitions to test your skill. Show times for the Jousting Knights will be at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. each day. Throughout the town there will be street parties, live music.
On Sunday there will be a closing banquet on Barrack Street, with a Pig on a Spit. There will be a country fair, livestock sales, and market stalls and the local farmers market will also be attending.
Entry is a donation on the gate.
