New Museum exhibition on women artists

A new exhibition, Irish Women Artists of the 20th Century, is to be launched at the County Museum in Clonmel and presented by South Tipperary County Council Arts Service. The official launch by County Council Cathaoirleach Cllr. Michael Fitzgerald takes place on Thursday, 6th October at 7.30pm and the exhibition will be opened by Alice Lyons, poet and visual artist.

The exhibition is drawn from The Niland Collection and The Collection of South Tipperary County Museum and is presented in collaboration with The Model, home of The Niland Collection, Sligo.

Artists featured include Sarah Purser, Estella Solomons, Eva Hamilton, Mary Swanzy, Evie Hone, Mainie Jellett, Nano Reid, Norah McGuinness, Frances Kelly, Bea Orpen, Dorothy Cross, Alice Maher, Marie Foley and Clare Langan.
