Culture Night 2012 was celebrated in style in the Brú Ború Cultural Centre, Cashel on Friday, September 21.
A large attendance of people from far and wide attended for what was a great night of traditional entertainment. The centre welcomed people from Germany, Spain, USA, Canada, Switzerland and not forgetting the fine gathering of people from Cashel and the surrounding areas.
Music was provided by members of the Brú Ború performance group who returned back to Brú Ború after a very successful season of Summer Shows in the Cultural Centre. Jim Egan on box, Finbarr English on fiddle and Mary Kelly on the harp were also accompanied by young musicians from the Cashel branch along with a fine melodeon performance by John English father of Finbarr.
Many a set was danced with Donnchadh O Cinnéide keeping the spirits high on the microphone. Songs were sung and stories told and to cap the night off much needed refreshments were served to all in attendance.
It truly was a memorable night in Brú Ború, one that everyone thoroughly enjoyed and we would like to thank everyone for their support and attendance on the night.
We are already looking forward to Culture Night 2013.
