Tipperary Strictly Come Dancing has delivered once more for a deserving cause in the community.
Dancers have now raised over €50,000 for good causes in this event over the last four years.
This time a large gathering of Strictly supporters turned out at Hotel Minella to support the Clerihan community in funding the further development of their Community Park facilities.
The large attendance was not disappointed by the fantastic arrangements that included tango, quickstep and jive. Couples had practised vigorously over many weeks under the instruction of choreographer Ruth Quinn to deliver another entertaining night of dance.
The show opened with the ladies performing a sexy group routine arranged by Eleanor Brannigan (The Elle Academy of Dance), which warmed the atmosphere and set a sizzling tone for the night. Compere Liam Molumby linked the performances with his usual charm and efficiency.
The dancing couples, none of whom had any previous experience of ballroom dancing then took up their positions and dazzled the crowd with their dance moves. From Paso Doble to the Charleston, their enthusiasm was infectious and the crowd delighted in each performance.
Fr. Ailbe O’Bric, chairperson of Clerihan Community Council praised the commitment and generosity of the 22 dance volunteers who he said were willing to go where very few would dare, conquer their nerves and deliver very entertaining routines.
