At our meeting on Valentine’s evening Brendan Franklin showing not a sign of nerves treated us to his first speech to the club known as an icebreaker. In fact he was ice cool as he told us about himself. He was followed by Mick White taking us through the story of chocolate and how the chocolate bar of today has only been around for about two hundred years. His talk was sweetened by the selection of chocolate available for everyone in the audience! Finally, wondering how some people are always late and with a rather large clock by his side Richard Walsh spoke to us about time management. The speeches were evaluated by Nell Cooney, Irene Gerety and Pat Kinsella. Thos O Neill was timer, Margaret Hyde was grammarian and general evaluator was our president Jim Keating. Come along to our next meeting on Thursday evening 28th Feb at 8pm in the Park Hotel, Clonmel. Guests are always welcome and free of charge. Everyone is encouraged to speak at meetings especially in the Table Topics session after the prepared speeches. One of the five guests Donnchadh Coffey won a bouquet of red roses for his valour in taking on the challenge of the table topics master Breda Hennessy who asked that someone come forward take a flower and present it in a romantic fashion to a member of the audience. The rest of us wallflowers salute your bravery sir! Check us out at www.Clonmeltoastmasters.com
