Coming-of-age film for 15-21 year-olds on Saturday in Clonmel

Clonmel Cine Club, in association with Access Cinema, is joining forces with the Connex 13 youth arts festival in Tipperary to screen a wonderful film for 15-21 year-olds at the County Museum at 2.30pm on this Saturday, November 30.

Written and directed by Stephen Chbosky and based on his best-selling novel of the same name, The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a witty and affecting coming-of-age story about a gawky teenager’s tribulations in the early 1990s. 15 year-old loner Charlie (Logan Lerman) is about to embark on his first day of high school in the wake of his best friend’s suicide. Taking an interest in the boy’s budding literary talent, teacher Bill (Paul Rudd) introduces Charlie to classics of cult literature (Fitzgerald, Salinger, Kerouac) which inspire the novice writer to undertake some adventures of his own.
