Tipperary Millennium Orchestra are gearing up for their 14th consecutive annual Christmas concert to be held in Ss Peter and Paul’s Church in Clonmel on Sunday, December 8.
The Orchestra has entertained audiences throughout the county and beyond since their formation in 2000 to mark the Millennium.
Since then dozens of young musicians have been given the opportunity to showcase their musical talents in an orchestral environment.
The forthcoming concert, often referred to as the official launch of the Christmas season in Clonmel, has grown in popularity and entertainment value over the years and the constant updating of lighting and sound quality has resulted in a show of a very high professional standard.
The orchestra has also been privileged to have had many wonderful soloists accompanying them. This year is no exception and they are delighted to welcome back Derek Ryan, one of the most popular entertainers in the country and no stranger to Clonmel audiences.
The Gaudeamus Choir will accompany Derek. The choir, made up of members of choral and musical societies from all over the county, will be having their third outing with the orchestra and their return is sure to delight anyone who has already experienced their unique talent.
Tickets are available from the usual outlets - Marian’s, O’Connell Street; Better by Nature, Market Place and the Parish Shop, Ss Peter and Paul’s, priced at €15 each. The concert will commence at 8pm sharp and tickets will also be available at the door.
