Cashel to honour High King Brian Ború with April pageant

A community pageant to commemorate Brian Boru and the millennium of the Battle of Clontarf will take place in Cashel in April.

A community pageant to commemorate Brian Boru and the millennium of the Battle of Clontarf will take place in Cashel in April.

Cashel is to play a major role the national celebrations, members of South Tipperary County Council were told at their February meeting.

On the weekend of April 24-27 a number of musical events, workshops, conferences and a community pageant will be held in Cashel as part of the celebrations.

The role Cashel is to play in the extensive list of commemorative events to be held in Dublin, Armagh, Clare and Tipperary was welcomed by members of South Tipperary County Council on Monday.

The website www.brianborumillennium.ie will host the full programme of events and will go live at the end of January 2014.
