The wait is finally over, author Patrick Gale will visit Tipperary Libraries this weekend.

Patrick’s schedule includes reading and discussion sessions in Clonmel Library on Friday, November 9th at 7pm, in Nenagh Library at 3pm on Saturday, November 10th and then his final appearance in Thurles Library that evening at 7pm.

Over the past few months the people of Tipperary have been reading Patrick’s latest novel A Perfectly Good Man which is the focus novel for this year’s Tipperary Reads Festival.

The novel has proven to be extremely popular with readers and has been one of the most borrowed items in Tipperary Libraries in recent weeks.

The novel is set in the beautiful Cornish countryside where 20-year-old Lenny Barnes, paralysed in a rugby accident, dies by suicide in front of the local parish priest Barnaby Johnson.

Richard and Judy chose the book for their recent book club and have described it as a “a deeply intelligent, humane examination of the meaning of goodness. This book is a joy”.

Patrick Gale is the author of fourteen novels, the twelfth of which, Notes from an Exhibition, was the Independent Booksellers Association Best Adult Book of 2008. His visit will offer readers an exciting opportunity to meet what Judy describes as ‘one of our foremost yet most accessible writers’.

Everyone is welcome to come to Clonmel, Nenagh or Thurles Libraries and join what is sure to be a most enjoyable experience.

All events are free.
