At the victory dinner for our three All-Ireland winners in Fitzpatrick’s in Clonmore on Saturday, May 25th Sinead Grant (Newcastle) in Amhranaiocht Aonair, in Aithriseoireacht Noel Joyce (JK Bracken’s), in Set Dancing also from JK Bracken’s the Johnny Delaney trained Set team, it was a joyous occasion in the very decorative lounge, where around two hundred enjoyed a super meal efficiently and very pleasantly served.

We then had some entertaining speeches from Scór personnel introduced by a jovial suitable Bean a ‘Ti County Scor Runai Mary Bourke, representing County GAA Board Cultural Officer Josephine Cahill, Seamus McGrath an uncle of Sinead Grant representing Scor na Mumhan, and County Scor Cathaoirleach Noel Joyce himself, who informed us that County Scor invited All-Ireland Quiz team of 2009 from Loughmore Niamh Ryan, Pauric and Joseph Hennessy with team mentor Martin Ryan to be included in celebrations - all were presented with a specially framed photo.

It was good to see so many Scór supporters from the local community, they are great people for supporting Scor down the years, also to see old Scór friends Nan Kelly and Kathleen O’Connor of Portroe Scór and many Novelty Acts, Pat Quinn and Joan Ryan from Upperchurch, Michael and Mrs Nugent, Newcastle, Michael produced the Newcastle All-Ireland Ballad Group, some family members danced in Newcastle winning Sets, also his daughter Mary Nugent won Solo Song in 1990s. Some members of Moyne-Templetuohy Scor Willie Maher and his wife, Francis Cleere, Mary Walsh and Jim O’Meara. It was also good to welcome TD Mattie McGrath.

It gave a a very happy feeling to be part of such a festive and enjoyable night and trust we shall be celebrating again next year, so it is up to the clubs to appoint a Scór Committee, the talent is there it only needs a bit of foraging to find it, so looking forward to next season.
