This week Paddy Loughnane continued with his tutorial on camera settings. We had a discussion about camera maintenance. Paddy explained the importance of keeping your camera up to date.
This is a relatively simple procedure that can be undertaken by the individual photographer. He also explained the pros and cons of buying second hand camera equipment, putting particular emphasis on shutter actuations which means the amount of times the shutter was released.
All this technical information was followed by Jim Freeman giving us a digital presentation on Wales. This summer some members travelled to Snowdonia in Wales and they were fortunate to have great weather. Over the week Jim captured some breathtaking scenery and birds especially Red Kites which are native to Wales. Jim’s presentation was very well received by everyone and we appreciated the effort he put into it.
On this Wednesday 14th we are looking forward to Limerick Photographic Society visiting us. They will have the results of the Nature Competition, which will be followed by an exhibition of their own work. This promises to be an excellent evening, one not to be missed. The club will start at 8.30 pm sharp, as there will be no beginners class at 8.00pm. On November 21st we will be continuing with our classes for beginners. All camera enthusiasts are welcome. Remember we meet every week in Hayes Hotel 8 p.m. for beginners and 8.30 for advanced members.
