Icelandic director Baltaser Kormákur tells the story of a man’s struggle to deal with survivor’s guilt when he becomes the sole survivor of an accident at sea in the fact-based drama ‘The Deep’.

It is March 1984 when the fishing trawler Breka VI sets out for the North Atlantic on a fishing expedition.

During the course of the voyage the boat runs into a powerful storm which causes it to capsize, sending its six-man crew into the freezing waters where they all perish save for one man.

‘The Deep’ will be screened at The Source Arts Centre in Thurles on Wednesday, January 22nd at 8pm.

Tickets: €9 (€7 concession & €5 for Film Club members). See: thesourceartscentre.ie
