The Source Film Club will screen ‘Night of Silence’ at The Source Arts Centre in Thurles on Wednesday, March 26th at 8pm.

A mismatched couple struggle to come to terms with their arranged marriage in Turkish director Reis Celik’s claustrophobic drama.

Thirteen-year old Gelin (Dilan Askut) finds herself married off to middle-aged former jailbird Damat (Ilyas Salman) to settle a dispute between their families, but on their wedding night tries to do everything she can to delay consummation.

‘Night of Silence’ is a solidly paced drama centring on marital fears and the power of myth and storytelling.

Tickets: €9 (€7 concession & €5 for Film Club members).
