St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee Chairman Steve Crofton has said that the Parade Committee are now preparing for the hosting of the town’s 37th annual successive St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which was initiated in 1979 by the then Roscrea Junior Chamber.
Mr Crofton urged all Community Groups and Residents’ Associations to take part in the Parade as the Parade must truly become a ‘Community Parade’ if it is to grow and expand in the years to come. All entries are welcome to take part and there is no charge. For further details or to enter a float please contact Parade Secretary Marie Ryan (0505 23185) at the Abbey Hall Roscrea. The Parade takes place of course on St. Patrick’s Day and commences on the old Dublin Road at 3pm. Hopefully, more businesses, clubs and organisations will see the benefits of not just keeping the Parade alive in Roscrea, but really turning it into a parade that will prosper for years ahead.
