Cashel Town Council voted unanimously to approve its final ever budget on Tuesday evening last week, with no
increases in rates or charges.
Town Manager Séan Keating said they were operating in difficult times but “we should be able to maintain the same level of services” to consumers. The Town Council has carried out a number of important works in 2013, including footpaths and road maintenance, repairs to the City Wall, housing upgrades in Spafield Crescent, along with a new streetscape for Friar Street. Town Clerk Marie McGivern said the Council proposes a spend of J2,642845, which is an increase of J37,763 (1.4%) over provision in 2013.
“This increased provision without increasing charges has been achieved by a number of measures including greater efficiencies and ensuring value for money.
