Tipperary TD Noel Coonan said the application process for the Heritage Management Grant Scheme 2014 is open and €70,000 will be allocated to support projects that apply good heritage practice to the management of places, collections or objects including buildings.
Deputy Coonan said the scheme, run by the Heritage Council, covers for example the preparation of a conservation report to inform future works, conservation of heritage collections and objects, including documents and conservation or management of a wildlife site where a conservation/management plan exists.
“Applications must be submitted on the Heritage Council’s website before 5.00pm on 15 January 2014.
“This is an opportunity for Tipperary individuals, societies or groups to apply for funding to look after our local heritage,” continued Deputy Coonan.
The scheme is open to individuals, non-profit organisations such as environmental NGOs, local community groups, heritage and preservation societies, local authorities, statutory organisations, academic institutions and private companies.
