Launch of poetry & fairy trails at the Library Field

This week marked the launch of the hugely successful Roscrea Poetry Trail and Roscrea Fairy Trail.

This week marked the launch of the hugely successful Roscrea Poetry Trail and Roscrea Fairy Trail.

Chairperson of Roscrea Tidy Towns Denis Ryan decided to put funding for a project from his Council Mayoral fund into completing Dr. John Feehan’s plan for the Roscrea Library Field, which was unkempt and unused. Thanks to Denis & the committed Tidy Towns members this field has now been transformed into a woodland with native wildflowers, trees from the Irish Tree Alphabet, many young native Irish trees and shrubs, a sample of a red sandstone outcrop and Ogham stone making it a very attractive amenity area and woodland in close proximity to the town centre. To compliment all of this work, the Junior Tidy Towns have created much interest for visitors and families by incorporating a Poetry and Fairy Trail.
