Cáit de Brun and Roscrea native Katie Ryan, are pictured here after finishing 3rd in the newly composed song competition at the Munster Fleadh held last weekend in University Limerick.

The song entitled ‘Come Home For the Gathering’ was written by Cáit and sung by up-and-coming young traditional singer Katie Ryan.

The ladies were very lucky to finish in the medals in a large competition. Cáit’s daughter Kathryn Browne qualified for the All Ireland in Derry in August in Senior Whistle and also Senior Trio with Cillian de Roiste (Templemore) and Sarah McAuliffe (Newport). Well done to all!

This is a unique Munster Fleadh as it is the first time it is being held in an enclosed campus environment, in the University of Limerick.
