On Sunday last the inauguration of the Roscrea Unit Order of Malta took place in the idyllic setting of the college chapel at Mount Saint Joseph’s Abbey. The day’s proceedings commenced with mass celebrated by Fr Gerard Hennessy, the regional chaplain of the Order Of Malta. This was followed by the blessing of the Roscrea unit’s ambulance and a number of photo opportunities in the college grounds. Proceedings then moved to the Damer Court Hotel where the national director, Commander Dame Winnie Maye D.M and the president of the Order of Malta Sir Adrian Fitzgerald Bt. K.M addressed the gathering, Officer in charge of the Roscrea Unit, Ollie Hayes was master of ceremonies for the event. Roscrea Unit Order of Malta would like to thank their fellow members of the Order Of Malta at a local and national level who attended along with past members of the Order and also the large number of invited guests who attended. Roscrea Order Of Malta also wish to thank Mount Saint Joseph’s Abbey and the Damer Court Hotel who facilitated the event in addition to all those who organised and who helped out in any way with the ceremony.
