Culture Night 2013 was held in Brú Ború on Friday 20th September. This was a most enjoyable night of music, song and dance. Visitors were first treated to a guided tour by John Cash of the cultural exhibition ‘Sounds of History’ and it was great to see so many people partake in the tour. It was then onto the Teach Ceoil for the entertainment where Jim Egan, Bobby Gardiner, Clare Quinn, John Geehan, Barbara McCarthy and more gave a great performance of traditional Irish music with a few dances and songs along the way too. A highlight of the night was the arrival of Nora Butler who delighted the visitors with a selection of songs. Everyone was treated to refreshments at the end of the night and thanks to Joan Murphy and the staff of Brú Ború for their assistance on the night.
Music classes have now started for the new academic year. Kathleen Nesbitt and Maura O’Brien tutor in Brú Ború on Tuesday evenings from 5pm until 9p.m. Anyone still hoping to join the classes can contact 062 61122.
