Terryglass Arts Festival has been allocated E2,000 under the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport’s funding for local festivals.
The allocation has been welcomed by local Junior Minister for Transport and Tourism Alan Kelly.
“I am delighted that the festival in Terryglass has received this funding. Local festivals are central to the Government’s plans to develop the tourism industry. Last year was a great success for Irish tourism and regional festivals and events across the country played a big part in that success.
“The festivals sector has shown remarkable resilience over the last few years, which shows the resourcefulness and skills of the people and communities involved in the sector,” he said.
