Rehearsals are well underway down at Clonmel’s White Memorial Theatre where St. Mary’s Choral Society is preparing to present its 105th production Jesus Christ Superstar from 1-9 April (2 weeks time). Director Maureen Walsh, together with Musical Director Laura Cotter and Choreographer Gillian Hewitt-Fitzgerald are putting the final touches to what promises to be another sparkling production by the society.
The line-up of principals includes many new faces, together with familiar names and is as follows: Ian Purcell (Jesus), Diarmuid Vaughan (Judas Iscariot), Aine Hennessy (Mary Magdalene), David Hughes (Pilate), Keith Greene (King Herod), Derek Ryan (Caiaphas), Diarmuid Bolger (Annas), Gerry Cunningham (Peter), Patrick Morrissey (Simon) and Bernie Lonergan (Maid by the fire). The principals will be ably supported by a cast of over 100, comprising Apostles, Lepers, Reporters, Soldiers and includes a junior cast of 45 local children.
Booking opens today Wednesday 16th March at Marians, O’Connell Street and the society will hold a table quiz, also tonight 16th in Liam Dalys Lounge, O’Connell Street to help defray the cost of this mammoth production. Your support would be much appreciated.
