Our story time started on Saturday July 9th and about 10 children attended. They were treated to 3 wonderful stories, and they were all willing to join in. Our next story time session is on THIS Saturday at 10.30am until 11am in the library. It is aimed at children in the 3 to 6 years category. All are welcome to attend. Children should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Summer Reading Tree
Once again, we are holding our “Summer Reading Tree Challenge” for all our junior members. Children are encouraged to read during the summer and for every book they read, we will put a leaf on our tree. At the end of the summer, each participant will receive a medal and a certificate of achievement. Over 200 children participated last year. If you are interested, just register on your next visit to us.
Children’s Book Club
In September, we hope to start a children’s book club. This will give children a chance to read and discuss books with other children. The club will meet once a month in the library. If you are interested, please give your name to a member of staff on your next visit.
New REDUCED Charges
Since the beginning of May, Tipperary Libraries can offer reduced charges for using many of our services. Our Adult membership rate is still €7.00 and Senior Citizens, Third Level Students and those in receipt of Social Welfare can join for €1.50. Our children’s membership remains FREE. Our internet facilities can now be used by Children (up to end of Secondary School) for FREE, while everyone else is charged E1.
We also have printing and photocopying facilities. For further information about any of these events or the library in general, call to see us on the Birr Road, phone us on 0505 22032, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit our website at www.tipperarylibraries.ie
