The Blackbull Threshing Committee held its annual presentation night on Friday 11th October at Bretons pub, Ballybritt. The beneficiary’s this year were The Coolderry G.A.A Sports Development committee,

Pieta House “Help our Men Project”, Roscrea ,The Offaly S.P.C.A and The Coolderry Senior Citizens Group. Even a Recession year a substantial amount of money was raised to help local charities carry out their valuable community work.

Colman Hogan (Chairman) of the Coolderry G.A.A club accepted the cheque of €18,000 towards the development of the grounds in Coolderry. Pieta House “Help our Men” project received €1,000. The Offaly S.P.C.A received €1,000 and the Senior Citizens group received €500. The Threshing Committee’s chairman Seamus Kennedy thanks everybody who contributed and helped make yet another threshing year a success. A special thanks from the Committee is expressed to Brian and Geraldine Malone and Patrick Hayden for the use of their premises, each year they donate the use of their premises and it is very much appreciated. A further thanks to Din Mullally and Michael O’Toole for the provision of their Threshing mills on the day and to Joe Dempsey for providing the Oats for the threshing festival. The Threshing committee hope to see you all again next year for another great fund raiser.
