The race to represent Ireland at Eurovision reaches the critical juncture this week with the five finalists selected set to battle it out for the chance to travel to this year’s extravaganza in Vienna.
Among the artists vying for a place amongst the musical elite is 16-year-old Tipperary singer-songwriter Molly Sterling from Puckane.
Molly will face some tough opposition in fellow contestants Nikki Kavanagh, Kat Mohan, Alex Saint and Erika Selin.
Although still a secondary school student attending Saint Andrew’s College in Dublin Molly Sterling, a self-taught musician, has already embarked on an exciting musical career. And, she writes all her own songs and music.
Alongside Greg French Tipperary’s Molly Sterling co-wrote the song ‘Playing with Numbers’.
The song will feature as part of an up-coming album while Molly Sterling is also hoping to represent Ireland with the song at the Eurovision Song Contest.
‘Playing With Numbers’ is a song is about the risks people take every day in love and in life and about taking the road less travelled.
Public voting has already begun, but a judging panel will also have their say.
The winner will be announced on the ‘Late Late Show’ on Friday, February 27th after live performance sfrom all five acts.
