Artist basketmaker Lynn Kirkham is holding a willow Workshop on May 9th-10th - make a basket to bring home on Saturday and learn about willow growing and how to make strong supports and fences for your garden using natural materials on the Sunday.
The workshops cost 50 euro per person per day or 80 euro for both days. Places are limited so please book soon.
Lynn is a well-known local artist who is relaunching her Tipperary business, Greenmantle Arts, while also struggling to keep her home from repossession after falling into arrears on a loan.
Lynn has been involved with community groups, local schools on arts projects and other events spread over many years. And, Lynn is determined to keep her home and studios open to continue this work.
Lynn is working hard to tackle her financial difficulties in a creative way and welcomes all local support, projects and commissions. She has also recently launched a crowdfunding campaign with US-based company GoFundMe. Crowdfunding is not popular in Ireland and she is finding that people are slow to come on board with actual online donations. Please check out Greenmantle Arts on facebook and make a donation to the project if you can. You can receive a Greenmantle gift or voucher in return. You can also visit the Greenmantle Studios by arrangement to learn more about the project - contact Lynn on 085 17 5 5553 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
